Swingalong picked for the Duke of York Clipper Stakes at York

Swingalong picked for the Duke of York Clipper Stakes at York

SWINGALONG is my pick for the Clipper Stakes at York on Wednesday. This mare has a good strike-rate away from Group 1 company. She has had five Group 1 starts without a win but has won three of his other six starts. She is unbeaten in G2 races, (1 start for 1 win) and unbeaten at York, (2 starts for 2 wins), therefore she is my selection for this race.

Kaipana top chance at Newmarket

Kaipana hard to beat in the Pretty Polly Stakes

KAIPANA won at Newmarket by 10 lengths last time out. On that basis I am picking him to win again. He has a 121 form line from three starts. His first two races were on the all weather. If his turf debut is anything to go by he has a bright future.

Silver Lady nap at Newmarket

Silver Lady hard to beat at Newmarket

SILVER LADY is my nap bet for the day at Newmarket on Sunday. This mare won a G2 at Meydan Mey last time out. That being her second win in five starts. A horse that has raced six times or less and has a Group win to their credit must be above average. Silver Lady is at 4/1. Running Lion, who won the Pretty Polly Stakes last year is the favourite. He has a better record on the all weather. His turf record is 1 win from 6 starts.

Thooza picked for winning debut at Te Rapa

The two year old race at Te Rapa does not have any form of note and is likely to be won by a debutante. THOOZA is one of those. She won a recent trial over 800m and there is no reason why she cannot win on her debut unless of course the lack of experience beats her but her trainer Tony Pike is known for having his youngsters ready to go first up. JADE DRAGON and SISTER CYRANE are other debutantes that won recent trials and there is no reason why they cannot win on debut either,

Sindee picked at Te Rapa

Sindee one to beat in Te Rapa 3YO Feature

SINDEE is the one to beat in Saturday’s Cambridge Breeders Stakes if her form is anything to go by. She has won three of her four races and finished third in the other. Her most recent victory came at the same course and distance as Saturday’s race. Her biggest danger may be KOHEROA who finished a close second at Trentham 6/4. A wet track is not likely to inconvenience him. DECEMBER is another horse to consider. He has raced twice at Group level and finished out of the money at both those starts. He has won the races which are not black type. That was the reason why I backed him when he won at Taupo.

Backing both SINDEE and KOHEROA may be the way to go.

The Fearless One hard to beat at Otaki

The Fearless One hard to beat at Otaki

THE FEARLESS ONE was beaten a neck by LIGHTNING JACK at the course and distance at Otaki 13/4 and has a chance in better going because the going that day was a heavy 9. He has never won in anything other than good. Lightning Jack won with an allowance last start. He is capable of backing that up especially if the going is heavy again. He is a past G3 winner and races best during Autumn. ISLINGTON LASS is an interesting horse. She has won five of her eight races and this is her open handicap debut. She has not won on heavy going so that could be a problem for her. If it is heavy, PRINCE ALBY will be a major chance. The drop back from 2200m will not be a problem if the going is heavy. MR MOJO RISIN is making his open handicap debut. He won at Otaki last time at 1400m. PRIDE OF ASPEN has won three times at Otaki. Her saddle slipped last time out so she is worth another chance. This is a race where punters should watch the weather and then make their decisions accordingly.

The Radiant One picked at Riccarton

THE RADIANT ONE is selected to turn the tables on THE HOTTIE in the Easter Cup at Riccarton after The Hottie beat The Radiant One last week. The Radiant One is 2.5kg better off at the weights this time but that is not the only factor of note. The Radiant One won at the Course and distance in late January having raced at Gore just 7 days earlier. Backing up does not seem to worry her because she raced twice at the New Zealand Cup meeting finishing third and fourth. HASTOBEYOU is an outsider to consider on the minimum. She has won two of her last three races.

The Weight Plus Form Betting System

The Weight Plus Form System

I had the right idea in handicapping that Country Final race at Caulfield last week. That is to go for the horses with the biggest drops in weight. I should have been more mechanical in my work.

Here is a system to do that.

Allocate points on the following basis:

(a) 1 point for every kilo drop in weight.

(b) 1 point for every length the horse won at its last race.

Deduct points for lengths beaten. 1 point deducted for every length beaten.

Preference is for horses that have last race no longer than 14 days ago.

http://www.melbournecupmethod.wordpress.com

http://www.facebook.com/winningfactors

6 Wins Plus Horse Racing Betting System

Here is a simple system for betting on proven horses.

Here are the rules.

1. Note all horses who have won at least six races.

2. Eliminate any horse who has not raced within the previous 15 days.

If there is more than one qualifying horse in the same race…

preference is for the one who ran the best placing last time out.

For example…last race wins preferred over last race seconds, thirds, fourths, etc.

Good luck with the system.

Always bet within your means.

Smart ‘N’ Sharp improver for Ellerslie

Sharp ‘N’ Smart improver for Ellerslie Feature

Legarto odds-on favourite

LEGARTO is expected to be all the rage in the New Zealand Stakes but don’t underestimate the chances of SHARP ‘N’ SMART; these class horses have a habit of returning to form in these features; as they say, the champagne rises to the top at the major racing carnivals. Sharp ‘N’ Smart finished within 3 lengths of Legarto in the Herbie Dyke Stakes and will be a much fitter horse this time. He is a multiple Group 1 winner. AQUACADE is the other to consider. She is classy and also raced against Legarto in the Herbie Dyke Stakes finishing fifth. ONE BOLD CAT and MALI STON also raced against Legarto last time, finishing third and fourth. One Bold Cat won’t mind a wet track.

Asfoora picked at Caulfield

Asfoora Picked for the Oakleigh Plate

ASFOORA finished second in last year’s Oakleigh PLate behind Uncommon JJames and is a good chance to go one better despite a wide barrier draw. She finished second in the Rubiton Stakes last time as the $1.80 favourite. KALLOS beat her that day. He is her rival again but has an even wider draw to contend with. SGHIRRIPA, BENEDETTA, and KING’S GAMBIT are three horses with good chances in an open field. Sghirripa has a terrific strike-rate but is not a noted Group 1 performer and this is a big test. Benedetta finished 4th in the Silver Eagle last start. That is the only time she has ever been out of the first three. King’s Gambit has never finished out of the first three in six starts. As a three-year-old he has a pull in the weights. Jamie Kah rides him. RECOMMENDATION is consistent. He has run in the first three in 12 of his 14 starts and ran 3rd in the Australia Stakes last time.
