The Talking Horse System
The talking horse system is so named because it may have tipped you off about its readiness to win next time it starts. The rules are very simply and they are;
1-Must have last raced within the previous 15 days
2-Must have finished unplaced last time out. (not 1, 2, or 3)
3-Finished within 3 lengths of the winner last time out
4-Has not won during the current season
Horses which qualify for the Talking Horse System will be ready to win. At their last race they showed that they are close to peak fitness.
Applicable to races at Awapuni
Last raced within the previous fifteen days
Trained by any of the following trainers;
In maiden races, back any 5-year-old who has raced within the previous fifteen days.
Back any horse with any of the following forms 11, 21, or 12 providing that todays race is not worth more in prize money than its last race.
COURSE & DISTANCE FORM
Back any horse who finished not more than half-a-length from the winner on the same course and distance last time out.
Back any last start beaten favourite if it finished not more than half-a-length behind the winner last time out.
Note horses that are racing on a course where their only success(s) have come and last raced on another course.
Another horses for courses system is to back last start winners that have been unbeaten on the course. Their stats will look something like this C (1-1-0) or C (2-2-0)
In Maiden in heavy going back those horses which have only been placed in heavy going.
THE 7-day system
Back all horses which finished second last time out not more than 7 days ago.
THE CLASS HORSE SYSTEM
Back all horses which has raced in a group one event during the current season providing it has raced within the previous fifteen days.
The trainers must think a great deal of the horse to be lining up in group one company and if it has raced recently then it is fit and ready to race and not using todays race as a tune up for something else.
THE HEAVY TRACK SYSTEM (1)
When the track is heavy back all horses which have run at last half of their career starts in heavy going and last raced no more than fourteen days ago.
HEAVY TRACK SYSTEM (2)
Note the total number of wins the horse has had and compare this to the number of heavy track wins. Back horses with at least 66% of its wins in heavy going and last raced no more than 14 days ago.
SUPER SECONDS SYSTEM
Back any horse which finished second last time out (not longer than 14 days ago). Check the prize money for today’s race. It must not be higher than when it finished second.
A FORM SYSTEM WORTH NOTING
Back any horse with any of the following forms 212 122 132 312 providing that any horse with any of these forms finished not more than half a length behind the winner last start.
THE WINTER TRACK LONG SHOT
During the May-September months note horses with any of the following forms; 10 19 18 17 16 15 14 and if their last race was in heavy going then it is a selection.
Back any hurdle debutante which has won at least three races on the flat. Horses which have performed poorly on the flat are usually equally poor over jumps and those with flat ability have an advantage over those that don’t when it comes to the jumps.
LAST RACE FAVOURITE SYSTEM
Back any horse that was favourite last time out providing that at least half of its career starts, it was the favourite.
THE TWO PLACES SYSTEM
Back any horse with the following form figures and their last two starts and last raced not more than 14 days ago.
22, 33, 32, 23
THE THREE YEAR OLD WINTER SYSTEM
During the winter months, June & July back three-year-olds which won their last race no more than 14 days ago. In August you can take 4 year olds which meet the 14 day criteria
