HUETOR is the one to beat in the Hollindale Stakes. This horse ran some good races on last year’s Queensland Winter carnival and without Zaaki to face this year, he can back up his JRA Plate victory with another win here. OSMOSE and KOVALICA could be the dangers here. Osmose was a black type winner two starts back while Kovalica won in top form this time last year and is not to be written off despite his average form.

MELODY BELLE SELECTED AT THE GOLD COAST

Melody Belle set to add to her G1 record

MELODY BELLE will appreciate the drop back to 1800m from 2400m and looks a terrific chance to win the Hollindale Stakes on Saturday. She finished 6th in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes last time against a stronger field. Barrier 17 is a worry but her rider Opie Bosson will find a way to overcome that. PARADEE looks the main danger. She finished 4th in the Australia Cup last time (6th March) and won three on end prior to that. Local runner VANNA GIRL is the other main chance. She is unbeaten at 1800m and has never finished out of the money on the Gold Coast.
