Ascot Stakes-Wide open field
Just where do you start to find the winner of the Ascot Stakes? It is a wide open race. Here are some ideas:
The Willie Mullins/Ryan Moore combination may be worth following in the staying races and Mullins has a horse called MY LYKA with Moore engaged to ride. This horse may not have raced on the flat for 384 days but he has been hurdling with his most recent hurdles race being 36 days ago. He will be fit and is the current favourite at 4/1. I do think however, that on his form that he is at poor value considering that all of his wins and placings have been in cheap races. This is a step up in class for him. I think BOHER ROAD at 14/1 is a reasonable chance since he has won twice this season from as many starts. He overall strike-rate is good with five wins from fifteen races and he carries slightly less weight than at his most recent race. He does prefer soft going though and will be coming down in distance from 2 miles.
