Highbury strong favourite in the Queen’s Vase
HIGHBURY is the favourite for the Queen’s Vase after his 7 length win in maiden company at Leopardstown last time out. That race was on good going. On debut he finished over 3 lengths from the winner in third place on soft going. That indicates that a soft track will be against him. Backing a last race maiden winner at short odds is something I am not keen to so especially in a field of such quality as is the case in all the races at Royal Ascot. The unbeaten BIRDMAN may be worth backing at 7/1. He is unbeaten. This is a race which has not been kind to punters in the past apart from last year’s winner Gregory so it will pay punters to keep their options open. It will be worth noting which horses in this race have competed in stakes company and compare their stakes race record with their handicap record.
